When you call AK Water Works on a rough day, the first voice you hear is often Cady Unger's — and that's by design.

Cady joined the AK team in 2022 and has grown into one of the most versatile members of the office staff. As a customer service representative, she answers phones, schedules service calls, and handles commercial paperwork and billing — the kind of behind-the-scenes work that keeps a busy plumbing operation running on time.

Born and raised in Warren, Ohio, Cady is a Howland High School graduate and a proud mom to an 18-month-old daughter. Outside of work, she keeps close to family — spending evenings and weekends with her fiancé and both of their families. (She's also become a dedicated spectator of bocce ball, now that her fiancé has taken up the sport.)

A Company That Feels Like Family

When asked what sets AK Water Works apart from other companies, Cady didn't hesitate.

"We're family-owned, and that plays a huge part in the way the company is run and the overall environment and energy we have here. We really are like a big family. We have fun at work — we laugh, we joke in the office. We see Kelly and Alex, our owners, every day. That's what separates us."

It's not just a talking point. Cady herself is a testament to it — her brother Josh Unger has been a longtime employee and serves as the company's Sales and Excavations Manager. It's that kind of loyalty and shared investment that runs through every level of the team.

Cady has a clear answer for why someone having a rough day should pick up the phone and call AK first:

"From the very first phone call, you're met with kindness. All of us that answer the phones — we want to help our customers. We're going to send out a technician who has the same end goal we do: help you, solve your problems, and leave you happy at the end of it."
