“Fast and reliable services! No complaints at all. Thanks to Tony and Chris, who got the job done. This was also after another plumbing company from Akron, OH... after 3 or so hours, was not able to complete the job. AK Waterworks finished the job within the hour, and also did a walk thru before and after clearing the clog in the main drain line. Thanks! Job well done! -Mr. Larry”

What Summit County Actually Deals With
Wet basements in Summit County are a soil and water-table problem before they are a foundation problem. What is under your house here decides which fix actually holds.
Ground conditions across Summit County
The Cuyahoga River valley runs the length of Summit County and it is cut deep — steep valley walls through the Cuyahoga Falls and Boston Township stretch, with sandstone bedrock much closer to the surface than in the Mahoning valley. Shallow bedrock is a real constraint on this side: replacing a sewer lateral or trenching for exterior foundation drainage can mean rock removal, and that changes both the method and the estimate.
Housing stock in Summit County
Akron holds a dense stock of pre-1940 rubber-industry housing, and Barberton and older Cuyahoga Falls are similar vintage. Hudson, Twinsburg, Stow and Green are largely post-war through modern. Summit is the most stratified county we serve — a 1915 Akron four-square and a 2005 Hudson colonial are different trades on the same day.
Water supply in Summit County
Municipal water across the developed county. Private wells remain in the western and northern townships — Bath, Richfield and Boston — where large-lot properties sit outside the municipal mains.
Sewer and septic in Summit County
Older Akron neighborhoods are served by combined sewers, and the city has been running a long-term separation and overflow-control program for years. On the ground that means wet-weather basement backups in the older wards, and homeowners weighing backwater valves. Rural townships are on septic.
Getting to Summit County: Summit is our westernmost county, roughly a 45 to 60 minute run from the Warren shop on I-76. We serve it on scheduled and planned work. If you are in Akron with water actively coming in, tell us on the call and we will be honest about whether we are the fastest option for you.
